88. The Fall of Lucifer, the Light-Bearer

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott

satansfallWe have seen that something catastrophic happened between the first two verses of Genesis. Satan fell.

When God made the earth, as it is now, He removed it from the sphere it was in and placed it into time and space. God said, ‘Let there be light’ before He made the sun, and the moon, and the stars. Because He is light, and that light is creative light. And there are two speeds of light: there is the speed of light that operates in the heavenly realms, and the speed of light which operates here, which is slowing down (as some scientists have now suggested), although at the beginning they were the same speed. Because of Adam’s fall, the speed of light started to slow down and so time used to be quicker (if you understand what I mean). That is why the earth appears to be 10,000 years old in the biblical account, and yet it is 14 billion years old as measured by science. Time was different, time was stretched out, the heavens were stretched out.

There is a passage in 2 Peter which speaks of this period: For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water (2 Peter 3:5-6).

This is not Noah’s flood. This is talking about the original destruction of the earth, and the fall of Satan. Earth was flooded with water at that time, the first flood. That is why we then find that the Spirit of God was brooding upon the waters in Genesis 1:2.

The anointed cherub who covers

We need to see what happened when Satan fell. He was originally a covering cherub, one of those angels who covered the throne, one who cried ‘Holy, holy, holy’. When he cried ‘holy’, he was exclaiming with wonder as he received from God the revelation of His purposes.

At some point, God revealed His plan to use Man, a person with DNA, to carry the DNA of God on the earth. And God revealed that it was to be His sons in DNA who were going to inherit the earth and the heavens (rather than the sons of glory, the angels).

Instead of crying ‘holy’ this time, all of a sudden, something else started to form in Satan’s heart.  He rebelled, and in his heart he was saying, ‘I want to ascend to the place where I will be like that!’

Now Satan had a reptilian form, and he was covered in stones. He was called Lucifer, the light bearer, and he was also the leader of the worship in heaven. So those stones were supposed to reflect the light of God’s glory, and he was supposed to be responsible for training Man to come into the fullness of God.

In Ezekiel 28 we can read about Satan’s fall.

Thus says the Lord GOD, “You had the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the ruby, the topaz and the diamond; the beryl, the onyx and the jasper; the lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; and the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, was in you. On the day that you were created they were prepared (Ezek 28:12-13).

The garden of God (Eden) was connected to the earth. In Genesis it says God had a garden in Eden, and then He planted a garden east of Eden. So there were two gardens, and at that point heaven and earth overlapped. The garden of God was where God walked, Adam had access to that; it was where the Tree of Life was.

And then we read about all the stones that covered Satan’s body. You will notice that Satan had nine stones, but Man has 12 stones: the breastplate of the High Priest had 12 stones, there were 12 tribes, there are 12 foundations to the New Jerusalem, 12 fruits on the Tree of Life. The number 12 speaks of government, and Man was supposed to exercise godly government.

[Biblical numerology is really interesting: threes and sevens and tens and twelves and forties are everywhere once you start to see them, but we can’t go fully into that here.]

Then it goes on,

You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until unrighteousness was found in you. By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned; therefore I have cast you as profane from the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire (Ezek 28:14-16).

Heaven is on a mountain, ‘the holy mountain of God’ (v14). The whole structure of heaven is a mountain and there is a plateau on top. On the mountain there is a throne and from the throne runs a river of fire – imagine how lava flows from a volcano. There are stones that operate on that fire which are stones of revelation. I have been on that mountain and I have walked on those stones, and another time I will maybe explain what those stones are. They represent what Satan would have done to bring Man into the fullness of God.

But then unrighteousness was found in him. It was exposed because of his role as covering cherub and the revelation that God gave him. The scripture goes on to speak about Satan’s trading and about his being filled with violence.

Again, I am going to have to teach on trade and trading floors another time, because it is to do with covenant and to do with exchange. For now, let’s understand that it worked like this: Satan had information, revelation of what God was going to do, and he traded it with the other angels. Man was going to inherit the heavens, rather than the angels doing so, because the angels were all about being ministering spirits for those who would inherit salvation (Heb 1:14). All the angels were created for us, and that now became clear. When Satan discovered this revelation, he went to some of the other angels and a third of them decided they were going to receive and act on it, and they were going to seek to rule the heavens instead of Man.

Like lightning from heaven

So Satan fell, like lightning from heaven, Jesus said. As a result of his fall, Satan no longer has access to Heaven (but has not lost access to all of the heavenly realms). He has no access to the River of Life or the stones of fire, or anything else which is found in that heavenly realm.

And when he fell, ‘there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him (Rev 12:7-9).

Here Satan is referred to as the dragon (I was writing about dragons and giants a few weeks ago in a previous post). This is where the word ‘dragon’ comes from: it is a description of Satan. A third of the angels – and that is a great number – took the trade Satan offered them, and fell with him.

As I say, that was in the original creation. Satan’s activity on the earth brought down God’s judgment upon it in the first flood, which resulted in a planet that was ‘formless and void’, covered in waters over which the Spirit would hover, brood or vibrate (Gen 1:2). And in the second creation, Adam’s rebellion would give Satan access to heaven again and open some of those realms back up to him.

12. God in the Garden

Mike Parsons –

sunset-50494_640There is a frequency of sound that is being released from heaven today: God’s voice. John 10:27 says, My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me.’How many of you are hearing God’s voice? God wants you to hear his voice, not just in big meetings or when someone’s speaking or when you are reading the Bible, He wants you to hear his voice all the time.

He is speaking all the time: that voice is coming out of heaven and it is the voice of revival, the voice of God calling his people to himself. Look at Ps 42:7, Deep calls to deep at the sound of your waterfalls. That sound from heaven is like a waterfall. It contains all the frequencies of sound. You need frequencies which flow; you need something to move you. Low frequencies vibrate and you can feel them go through you. It is possible to move a house off its foundations using low frequency sound, and that is nothing compared to the sound of God’s voice. God’s voice is powerful, he wants to release his voice so that we can hear it. We looked at this before in Rev 1:15-16: His voice was like the sound of many waters… out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.

God’s voice can sometimes be a voice of love. He comes to woo us, as we sing, drawing us close, letting his love surround us. When we have got to that place where we know the love of God, sometimes the sound of God’s voice changes and he comes to declare the truth.

The sound of revival is about a visitation of God.

Why is God coming the way he is coming in this revival? The answer is, because we are not doing what we should be doing. That is the bottom line. If we were manifesting the presence of God, the Spirit of God and the power of God that is in us, he wouldn’t need to come like that. When we come together, are we coming to receive, or are we coming to release? God wants us so connected with his presence on the inside of us, which is connected to heaven, that it is releasing the sound of heaven through us. ‘On earth as it is in heaven’: the sound of heaven, the light of heaven, the power of heaven would be released through us.

Over the years we know the church has become traditional and institutional and has stopped doing the things they did in the New Testament times. We have looked at how the church spiralled down and went into darkness in the Dark Ages, and how God has been restoring the church ever since, bringing it back to its intended glory, not just the glory of the former house, the New Testament church, but the glory of the latter house, the end-time church that is going to usher in Jesus’ return. And that church is going to be far more glorious; but who is the church? We are. So who is going to be far more glorious? I said last time that Adam was glorious in the Garden of Eden. We sing the song Nigel wrote about wanting to walk with God in the Garden of Eden; I could preach a whole message on the Garden of Eden but let me just pursue this a moment, I will try not to get too far off track…

The Garden of Eden was not the garden of God. Read it carefully and you will see the garden of God was in Eden, and he planted a garden east of Eden, and it was watered from the garden of God. The River of Life flowed from the garden of God into the Garden of Eden, then it came out in four streams that filled the earth. The Tree of Life was present there and if Adam had eaten of the Tree of Life, his destiny would have been fully revealed to him. We can now eat from the Tree of Life, but not on earth, because the Garden of God went back into heaven when Adam sinned. The River of Life went back into heaven. The Tree of Life went back into heaven. When it was on earth, heaven and earth overlapped and everything from heaven was flowing freely to earth. So God was able to walk with Adam in the cool of the day. He was walking in that place of intimacy and relationship. God breathed the eternal essence of his Spirit into man and he became a living soul, so we are spirit beings first and foremost – and Adam’s spirit was on the outside. He didn’t look the way we do now, he did have a body, but the glory of God clothed him on the outside. He shone. God is going to restore that.

God does not want to restore us to the purpose of the New Testament church, he wants to take us back to Adam and Eve. They were given a mandate to bring heaven to earth, to manifest heaven on earth, and they walked in intimacy with God and had a relationship with God which was way beyond what most of us have experienced. We are just beginning to experience that too, and God is going to restore it more and more.

God is shouting right now, he is calling HIS church. It belongs to him, it doesn’t belong to us. He sent his Son to die for the church, to establish it. God is calling to his church, he is coming to his church in this visitation, to prepare us. He wants our full attention fixed on Him. He doesn’t want us to be distracted, looking at the signs and wonders, only that they point to him. He doesn’t want us to be looking at the miracles and the healings, only that they point to him. Everything needs to point to him. When we fix our eyes upon him, we are we going to become like him. We will become like the one we behold, transformed from one degree of glory to another, one degree of being like him to another increased measure of being like him, being like the Son.

7. Waterfalls, the Sound of God

Mike Parsons

God is light. He is creative light. He created everything. There is also created light, which is the sun and the moon and the stars and all the other things which he created to bring light. In the Genesis story there was light before he created the sun. He is light. In Revelation 22 it says that when he comes to dwell with man there will be no need for the sun, because He Himself will be their light. He is light.

In John 12:36 Jesus says, “While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light”. We are called to be children of light. Now I am not going to go into all about what light is and how it works, but it is really important to understand this much: there is a new level of light that is coming upon God’s people. His glory is going to shine. ‘Arise, shine, your light has come. The glory of the Lord has risen upon you’ (Isaiah 60:1). That light is the light of revelation, it’s the light of power, and spiritual dynamics beyond what most people could even imagine.

Some of the things God showed me in heaven, about what is going to take place, could freak you right out – you would have no grid for understanding them. I’m not going to tell you them all today, but there are things that are going to happen on earth, that we are going to have to encounter and battle with, that you cannot conceive of right now, they are off your grid. But you are going to have to get to a point where they are on your grid, because you have to be ready and you have to be prepared.

God is restoring those upper bandwidths of light to his children. Dimensions of God’s power and revelation and authority are being restored to his children. If we are children of the light, we can operate in creative light, not just created light, because we are children of God and children of his light.

Sound, frequency, is being released from heaven today. There is a frequency being released from heaven, the sound of God. And some of us are hearing it. Some of our musicians are starting to pick it up. It is coming from heaven. ‘Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls’ (Psalm 42:7). I went up and down loads of waterfalls in heaven. I struggled to get up them at first because my head would not engage with how you could get up a waterfall that is flowing down. I had to have help: the Holy Spirit helped me, angels helped me, until I learnt how to go up and down. You can do it because heaven operates to a totally different set of laws to those we are used to. Water can pass through you in heaven, too, so it’s totally different. But there is something about the deep things of God, and the voice of God, which is calling out to the deep things in our spirit today. There is a sound coming out of heaven that he wants us to start resonating with. It is like the sound of waterfalls. If you use an oscilloscope to measure waves of sound near a waterfall, it will go off both ends at the same time. Because there is something deeper in that waterfall than our natural ears can hear, and there’s also something higher in that waterfall that is beyond what our natural ears can hear. But in our spirit we can be connected and hearing the voice of God.

Rev 1:15. ‘His voice was like the sound of many waters’. That’s what his voice sounds like. And in that sound there are many things he is saying, and we can hear it. Verse 16, ‘out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength’. Now I do have a two-edged sword. I have not sharpened it… yet (I am thinking about it)! In a conference I went to in 2009, God wrestled with me and challenged me to take up a sword. And I didn’t want to pick up a sword, because I’m a really nice guy. I don’t want to be controversial! I don’t want to offend people, but God told me to pick up a sword. And I really struggled for two days to be obedient and in the end, he shook me so violently that I had to pick it up. And in picking up that sword, it was a challenge to me personally in my flesh. I knew that one aspect of my bringing a sword was to cause a dividing line. And Jesus brought a sword. Now, some of you might not like that.

Just before I pursue that, let me say, God is love. That is the total motive of everything he does: love. He is always smiling on us in love. Even when he disciplines us, he is always smiling on us. But he does discipline us.

So, ‘Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword’. (Matt 10:34). That sword is to set a dividing line. It divides things, such as who is for him and who is against him. You can’t sit on the fence (it’s really uncomfortable sitting on the edge of a sword). There is no ‘in between’ with God. It’s black and it’s white. And God is calling us to say who we are for, who we are listening to, who we are agreeing with.

The challenge is coming.

3. Choices: Constantly Connected?

connectedMike Parsons

Amos 3:7 tells us, ‘Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets’.

God is speaking today: the key question is, are we hearing his voice? Jesus said “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now” (John 16:12).

Parables

Until the Holy Spirit came, Jesus couldn’t reveal everything because he was speaking about spiritual things his hearers couldn’t understand. He used parables, but today God is using parables of a different nature because we have a different measure of understanding: ‘But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come’ (John 16:13).

All the truth: that’s a lot of truth. Ian Clayton said he picked up a blade of grass in heaven because he wanted to know all of God, but the amount of information that was in that blade of grass made him drop it because it would have fried his brain. Because God is infinite, there is so much truth.

But still, the promise is ‘all truth’ and that means that everything is available to you: within ‘all truth’ God wants to reveal all that you need for your life and destiny. God wants to disclose what is to come for us as individuals, for our life, for our destiny in God; he wants to reveal the things he has already prepared for us before the foundation of the world. As that scripture tells us, the Holy Spirit came to reveal to us those things that are to come.

Your future destiny

Now the choice is, are you listening to Him? Have you seen your future destiny? If you have seen it, you can have it, that’s how it works. In fact you have to see it in order to have it, and you cannot have it unless you have seen it. ‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for’, that is to say, the things you have seen in the spirit. In the realm of the spirit, God wants to show all of us the things that are our destiny. He wants to show us what was written on our scroll in heaven before we were even thought of in a worldly sense (although in God’s thoughts we are eternal, we have always been with God, because he breathed his essence into us).

Constantly connected

Jesus was constantly connected. He only did the things he saw the Father doing and he only said the things he heard the Father saying (John 5:19). He was constantly connected to the realm of heaven and he has given us the opportunity to be connected too.

So what realm are you connected to? Are you connected to the earthly realm most of the time, and occasionally a little bit of heaven? Or do you constantly live in two realms? Can you be connected to both every minute, every fraction of a second, of every day? Twenty thousand times every nanosecond, Planck’s constant blinks us in and out of that spiritual realm (and a nanosecond is one billionth of a second). That’s a bit hard to get hold of but the reality is we are constantly connected – or we can be.

So what are you seeing? Whose voice are you resonating with? Who are you listening to? Are you listening to the voice of God or are you listening to other things?

4 sources of ‘wisdom’

James tells us there are fJur sources of ‘wisdom’ you can be listening to: wisdom from above (heavenly wisdom), earthly wisdom, natural wisdom, and demonic wisdom (James 3:15). Which of those are you resonating with? Who or what are you coming into agreement with? Because when you start to agree with the frequency of heaven, when you start to resonate with the heart of God, then heaven comes to earth through your life. So are we resonating with heaven (where God’s throne is), the atmosphere of the earth (where the battle is waged between the devil and the angels), this physical realm, or ourselves? Those are the basic choices, and the choice is ours.

Ten little 2-letter words: IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME. God doesn’t force it, he has given us free will to choose Him. In all of heaven and earth there are only two power sources: God’s and ours. The devil has no power source other than what we give him. And if we choose to agree with the enemy we choose to empower him, rather than God. Every time we say ‘yes’ to God we empower God and enable Him to operate. That is why he speaks prophetically. It enables Him to operate, because when we speak out of the prophetic realm of heaven, it can manifest on earth. That is because God has chosen to partner with us. It’s an amazing thing: God, the creator of the whole universe, has chosen to partner with us – and we have been given free will to choose to partner with him or not.

So what are you going to choose? What realm are you going to listen to? I would encourage you to listen to the realm of heaven, because what you see and hear there will engage you for your future and will reveal that future to you.

But the choice is yours.
