222. Complementary Gifts – Redemptive Gifts (6)

Mike Parsons
with Jeremy Westcott –

When we first began looking at the different redemptive gifts that Paul lists in Romans 12:6-8, we saw that each had a colour associated with it. The colours have frequency and vibration that we resonate with in the spiritual realm. And we recognise that when the different coloured flags and banners are waving in our meetings, they open up particular spiritual connections.

But also associated with each gift are different primary areas of the soul:

  • Prophet – Red – Mind
  • Servant – Orange – Will
  • Teacher – Yellow – Mind
  • Exhorter – Green – Emotions
  • Giver – Blue – Mind
  • Ruler – Indigo – Will
  • Mercy – Violet – Emotions

The spirit/soul wheel

In this diagram the colours represent the gifts and are linked to the soul areas associated with them.

spirit-soul-wheel

If we are looking to overcome the stronghold areas in our gift, we can use the complementary areas of the soul to do that. These are the areas next to our own gift, both clockwise and counter-clockwise on the wheel. So, for example, red is the prophet gift which operates primarily in the mind. To overcome the weaknesses in the prophet gift you need the servant gift’s soul area, the will, and the mercy gift’s soul area, the emotions.

The most effective way of achieving this in community is to get alongside people with complementary gifting/soul areas, because you will be able to provide a perspective that each of them needs as well as drawing on them yourself. You may even find yourselves naturally drawn together in relationship because you instinctively know that you need one another’s support and help. This is why it is so important for us to overcome any mutual suspicion or distrust of our differences and to honour God’s gifts in one another.

Follow the wheel around and you will see that each gifts needs the strengths of two other gifts.

How does this work? There are connections between the human spirit and the human soul. Each portion of the human spirit is connected to a portion of the human soul. So we need our spirit to engage with our soul to enable it to be led and directed into the things that God wants. A culture of honour and a dependence on each other (in a right sense) will enable each of us to be a fully functioning individual – and together to become a fully functioning body.

Calling forth

God wants to call forth our spirit, and to call forth those gifts in us, so that we will be able to function in the things He has called us to. Just as the Father spoke over Jesus He wants to speak over us as His children today. He wants to speak truth, to call forth His desires for us.

So now, I encourage you to be open to the Holy Spirit. Let’s open up our spirit to hear what He says over us. The gathering angels come as He speaks, to help us remove some of the things He does not want in us. Seraphim angels come with fiery coals from the altar to bring healing and wholeness as they touch areas of our lives. He does not want to just speak to our minds, He wants to engage our emotions, our will, our imagination, our conscience, our choice. He wants to engage through our spirit: through reverence, fear of the Lord, faith, hope, prayer, intuition, revelation, worship – He wants to engage us fully as a person.

Let’s take a few moments to sense His presence: Father, Son and Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts, speaking to our spirits, calling forth those redemptive gifts of sonship which He has placed within us. Hear what God is speaking over us:

I call forth your identity as My child.
I call forth your redemptive gifts.
I call forth your identity as an overcomer and a conqueror.
I call forth your ability to subdue and to rule your soul.
I call you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
I release the gathering angels to expose and remove stumbling blocks and lawlessness from your life, to expose and remove demonic strongholds, to expose and remove iniquitous roots, to expose and remove birthright curses.
I call you to surrender and trust Me.
I call you to know your true identity, gift and destiny as My child.

cosmosGod intends us to be part of bringing all creation back into His original intention and purpose, that of redeeming not only this planet but the whole cosmos. True, we are imperfect people, but if we are willing to surrender to Him then He can do that through us.

He is looking for the response of our hearts: for us to say ‘yes’, to draw closer to Him, to allow Him deeper into our hearts, to let the barriers down so that He can bring healing to some of those deep areas of hurt and pain which we have been carefully protecting. Let’s allow our spirits to worship Him in freedom, and to open up our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit, the angels and the presence of God to bring healing, wholeness and restoration.

Let’s come into agreement with Him, let’s realign ourselves back into who we really are, so that we can come into wholeness, into peace, into that place of rest. Not striving or struggling but enjoying the relationship with God that He designed us to have, walking with Him in the cool of the day in the garden of our hearts and in the garden of heaven, we can bring heaven to earth and see His kingdom come, manifested here on earth as it is in heaven.

20. Meditating on Psalm 23

“He makes me lie down in green pastures”

Mike Parsons

God wants us to know Him and to know the reality of how He is revealed in the Word. Psalm 23 is a powerful psalm which talks about the intimate relationship God desires to have with us. We will just look at a couple of phrases but I want to encourage you to take the time to meditate on the whole psalm.

‘The Lord is my Shepherd’

‘The Lord’ is a term that God has chosen to use to describe His character and nature. There are seven Names of God that help us to grasp different aspects of that character and nature. I could probably spend weeks on each one, but I won’t do that. I will just urge you to seek God for yourselves to gain revelation about each of them.

  • The Lord my Righteousness. That is right standing with God, or the right to stand in his Presence.
  • The Lord my Sanctification. That is the process of transformation and change that God wants to take us through.
  • The Lord is There. He wants us to be conscious of His very Presence with us all the time, Father, Son and Spirit.
  • The Lord my Peace. his peace is far more than being chilled out. His peace is wholeness, and absolute perfect rest. Everything we need is complete in Him.
  • The Lord my Healer. God wants us to come to Him to find perfect health, in body, soul and spirit.
  • The Lord my Provider. We no longer need to struggle just to have enough. We can know that in everything – not just money – He will provide all that we need and more. He wants us to look to Him for love, and to know that we are accepted, not rejected. Why would we even look for love and acceptance from the world? The world has nothing to offer us compared to knowing God. He is our Provider in everything we could ever need for our lives.
  • The Lord my Banner of Victory. In Him we are overcomers. We can overcome everything that would hinder us bringing heaven to earth through our lives.

We can know Him intimately, experientially, personally. He is wooing us, calling us to come away with Him, to know Him, to surrender all to Him. ‘Be still and know that I am God’. We can find rest. Deep calls out to deep. In our soul we are crying out for Him, longing to know Him, and He really wants us to know Him, ‘The Lord’. ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me’(Rev 3:20). Jesus is saying that He is standing at your door and knocking. He is calling you to that place of love. Open the door to Him every day. Every day, invite Him to come in, find new and fresh revelation in His Presence. Dine with Him: as we have said, that was a very intimate occasion in biblical times.

‘He makes me lie down in green pastures’

He invites us into that relationship every single day. He is crying out to us, wooing us, desiring so much more for us. There is so much more of Him that we can experience and know. As we open the door in our hearts, He opens the door in heaven. And there is so much greater intimacy there in heaven. ‘Come up here’ is His invitation to all of us.

Come up to the Holy Place, to the throne room, the Tabernacle, the garden, the River of Life, to the waterfalls. Come and meet the seven spirits of God. This is what God is doing in our day, inviting us to come. He wants our hearts and He won’t relent until He gets them. We need to surrender completely, wholly, to Him.

‘But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him’ (1 Cor 6:17).

That is an amazing promise. He is inviting us to flow together with Him, to be one spirit with Him. When we flow together His voice becomes our voice as He speaks through us. And we can join ourselves with him every day.

‘Where I am, there My servant will be also’ (Jn 12:26),

And where is Jesus? He is in His Father’s House (Jn 14:2). John chapter 14 is one of my favourite chapters: it is literally falling out of my Bible because I have read it so much. He is in His Father’s House, and the Father’s House is not heaven, it is us, the church.

‘If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also’ (Jn 14:3).

Jesus was not saying he was going to prepare a mansion for us. The place he was talking about going to for us was the cross, so that we could become a place where God could dwell. And the place where Jesus is? Intimacy, intimacy with the Father:

‘I am in the Father and He is in Me’ (v10).

We can do nothing apart from Him.

‘The works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father’ (v12).

I want you to put your own name into that scripture – you will do greater works than Jesus because it is the Father abiding in you that does the works (v10 again).

‘After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you’ (vv.19-20).

‘I in the Father, you in Me, I in You’. That is where we can be now, in that place of intimacy where we are at one with Him.

‘We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him’ (v23).

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in our spirit. Our spirits are like the Tardis in Doctor Who; bigger on the inside than on the outside. Our spirits are connected to heaven, outside of time and space as we know it, and they are connected to earth, in our body.

‘You know Him because He abides with you and will be in you’ (v17).

‘For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you’ (Luke 17:21).

If the Kingdom of God is within us, then we will be manifesting heaven on earth; His power will flow from us; we will shine. And if we are to demonstrate God’s Kingdom, we cannot do it without knowing him intimately.

We are a habitation of God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – connected to heaven and to the three O’s of God: Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient. All-powerful, present everywhere, knowing all things. If we are connected to Him, there is nowhere we cannot go, nothing we cannot do: we are connected to all of time and space.

What is it like to know the Presence of God in our lives?

‘The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace’ (Num 6:24-26).

That is what He wants for us, to know and experience Him as He really is, smiling upon us with love and acceptance, bestowing His wonderful peace, wholeness, completeness, and perfect rest.

5. Faster Than The Speed of Light

Mike Parsons

albert-einstein-401484_1280Einstein was working on something curious when he died, and many mathematicians went back to the last two blackboards that he was working on, to try to disprove what he had found (he had been trying to disprove it himself).

What he had found was that there appeared to be a particle faster than light; such a particle ought not to exist, but his equations seemed to indicate that it did. Eventually, a mathematician named Feinberg, having failed to disprove Einstein’s maths, proposed the concept of tachyons.

Tachyons are theoretical subatomic particles that run faster than the speed of light, and they are a theoretical particle that quantum physicists hate because if they go faster than the speed of light then they can’t measure them. If you tried to set a computer to measure them at 12 o’clock it would have to run backwards towards 11.59 because they would get there faster than the speed of light. But think about this: everything we receive from God comes to us faster than the speed of light. Our future, prophecy, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, it all comes to us before it actually happens. Two-thirds of the Bible is prophecy, God speaking before it happened.

Feinberg made this statement: ‘Einstein’s equations prove that at the speed of light an electron is present at all points across its trajectory’. In other words, if an electron moves from one place to another at the speed of light, it is present everywhere along that path, all of the time.

Now, we know that God is present, everywhere, all of the time. We call it the omnipresence of God. That means he is present all the time in our lives, past, present and future. As Jesus said, ‘before Abraham was born, I am’.

This is something really important for us to get hold of. Think of the arc in this diagram as the trajectory of your life, the path of your life, what has happened in it and what’s going to happen:

Quantum Vision

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. He was there before your life started, he called your life into being, he will be there all through your life and he will be there at the end of this physical life, though because we are eternal beings we will never end. So Jesus is here in the present, he’s here with us today, and he wants to engage with us on a daily basis every minute of every day. That means we can have a relationship with him which is intimate and real, and can have fellowship with him in which we are communicating and hearing his voice and seeing what he is doing all the time.

But we have a past. How many of us have things in our past that we don’t like? Most people do. How many of us are still dealing with some of those things? Again, quite a few. Therefore we need Jesus to be operating in our past. But because he is omnipresent, of course he can. He’s there: to him it’s still ‘now’. Those of us who are familiar with Liebusters have seen this at work when Jesus reintegrates our ‘stuck’ parts.

You can engage your past with Jesus so that he can heal you and restore you and set you free, release you from captivity, and bring everything into the present of where He is.

Now, can you really grasp that? Everything that has happened in your past, he is present in it, because in the spiritual realm it’s all ‘now’. Jesus can change things, because he is present in your past today. There is nothing he can’t heal or restore or make whole. It’s really important for us to know that there’s nothing he can’t do. He is present in our present. He is with us, we walk with him. He is also present in our future, and he wants to reveal our future. Jesus is before all things, past present and future, and we can be connected to all three, through him.

So nothing in our past can hinder our future if we surrender it to God.
